Who it is for
Operations that need to know where things are inside a building, where GPS does not reach: tools, equipment, stock, staff safety in a plant. Bluetooth tags and gateways answer a different question from vehicle tracking, and the two are often deployed together.
What it is good at, and what it is not
BLE tells you which zone something is in, reliably and cheaply, with tags that run for a long time on a coin cell. It is not centimetre-accurate positioning, and anyone promising that from a handful of gateways is selling you a survey they have not done. We are explicit about the resolution you will get for a given density before you buy hardware.
What a deployment involves
- A site walk — the building decides gateway placement, not the catalogue.
- Tag choice by asset: what it is attached to, how long it must last, whether it gets wet.
- Zone definitions that match how your team talks about the space.
- Alerts for the cases that matter: an asset leaving, a zone that is empty when it should not be.
