Privacy Policy

Zaaz Technology Inc. (“ZaazTech”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.zaaztech.ca, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to meet Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).
Who is responsible
Zaaz Technology Inc. is responsible for the personal information described here. Our Privacy Officer oversees how we handle it and answers questions and requests. You can reach the Privacy Officer at privacy@zaaztech.ca or by mail at 105-111 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Y 1P4, Canada.
What we collect
- Information you send us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and message. If you email or call us, we receive the information you choose to share.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our web server automatically records each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. We use these logs only for security and troubleshooting and delete them after 7 days.
- Cookies. We set one functional cookie,
pll_language, which remembers whether you prefer English or French. It expires after one year. Site administrators who log in also receive WordPress login cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 14, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
Why we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and, if you become a client, to provide and support our services.
- To keep our website and systems secure and to prevent spam and abuse.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We use personal information only for the purposes above, or for another purpose with your consent or where the law permits. By submitting the contact form, you consent to us using the information you provide to reply to you. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us; this will not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
Where it is stored and who can see it
Our website, email servers and backups are hosted in data centres in Quebec, Canada. Contact form messages are delivered to our own mailbox and are not stored in the website’s database. Only ZaazTech personnel who need the information to do their work can access it.
When you visit our pages, your browser also connects to a few outside services that deliver content, and those services receive your IP address and basic browser information:
- Google Fonts (Google LLC, United States), which provides the fonts used on the site.
- Unsplash and Pexels, which serve the background image and video on our home page.
Because some of these providers operate outside Canada, information they receive may be processed in other countries and be subject to those countries’ laws. We do not share your personal information with anyone else, except where required by law.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries that don’t lead to a business relationship: up to 2 years after our last exchange.
- Client records: as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal and tax requirements.
- Web server logs: 7 days.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access restricted to authorized personnel, and regularly maintained servers. If a privacy incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted when we no longer need it. Quebec residents may also ask how their information is used, request a copy in a structured, commonly used technological format, and ask us to stop disseminating it. To make a request, email privacy@zaaztech.ca. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
